Heather-Anne Grant

Heather-Anne lives in Shubenacadie Nova Scotia with her husband on their family's dairy farm

Occupation: International Development & Research Officer, Nova Scotia Agricultural College, Currently in the process of establishing a commercial sheep operation to be operated as a sole-proprietorship- “HAGACY SHEEP.”

Previous Work Experience: AgraPoint as Special Projects Researcher. Senior Business Advisor with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Canada (CIBS), agriculture accounts.

Interests, Volunteer Work and Hobbies: 4-H Dairy Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Various church committees, Nova Scotia Institute of Agrologists, Colchester East-Hants Sexual Assault Centre Board of Directors, Animals, History, Gardening, Running, Swimming, Photography, People, Traveling, Fashion and Interior Design, Global Politics.

Travel Experience: Three month exchange to United Kingdom; International Agribusiness Course at the College of Agriculture, Science and Education in Jamaica; two backpacking excursions around Western Europe (France, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxemburg, Germany), Several American states and across Canada numerous times.

Amy Sangster

Amy lives in Truro, Nova Scotia

Occupation: Ruminant/Agronomy Specialist, AgraPoint International (www.agrapoint.ca) Deliver agricultural extension and industry development by working closely with producers and commodity groups. Project work included on farm research trials and demonstrations, development of educational information, development of workshops and seminars and delivering presentations.

Hobbies: Horseback riding, triathlons, sketching, piano, reading.

Travel Experience: Seven month exchange to New Zealand, Scotland, Japan, Hawaii, Northeastern US and through out Canada.

Nola Seabright

Nola lives on the North East coast of beautiful Newfoundland & Labrador with her husband Glenn and their cat Jack. Her son, Robert, is currently attending university in St. Johns, NL.

Occupation: Food Processing Specialist Inspector with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. She inspects and certifies fish products for export to foreign counties, inspects seed potatoes for the Newfoundland market, as well as other duties related to our food safety program.

Hobbies: Spends time with family and friends, doing community service work, gardening, reading, making arts and crafts, beachcombing, curling & skating and consider herself to be a life long learner.

Travel: France, Arizona and Nevada in the US and visited several provinces in Canada. In addition to anticipating a fantastic experience she considers this visit to Brazil as the beginning of the ‘travel season’ of her life!

Ann Jones

Ann lives in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia with husband, Stan. Their daughter, Megan and her husband live in San Francisco, California and her son, Clay, lives in Toronto

Gabrielle Richard

Gabrielle lives in Wolfville, Nova Scotia

Unfortunately, because of family concerns, Gabrielle is not able to join us on this GSE. She is a valuable member of our team and will be missed.

Occupation: Pharmacist. Cochrane’s Pharmasave, Wolfville, NS Long Term Care Clinical Pharmacist: assess and recommend treatments for nursing home patients as well as dispense all required medications and advise on all drug interactions

Hobbies : kayaking, skating, canoeing, camping, traveling, reading, learning about new cultures, cooking

Travel Experience: 1 year in South Korea, traveling through Thailand, China, Dominican Republic, Greece

District 7820

Geographically, District 7820 is one of the largest of Rotary Districts. We are a family of 46 Rotary Clubs and 1800 Rotarians we include the Canadian provinces of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland & Labrador; Isles de la Madeleine and Frances, Saint-Pierre et Miquelon (France). Our current clubs are enclosed within a giant triangle formed by Yarmouth in the southwest, Labrador City-Wabush to the north (1025 air kms) and St. John’s (1185 air kms) to the southeast. Our 93 year legacy of service to the local and global community is a proud one.
